Telugu marriage chains handcrafted in 22K (916) BIS hallmarked gold — from a light daily-wear bottu to the full two-bottu bridal pustela thadu.
In Telangana and Andhra, the marriage is tied in gold — two bottu, black beads, and a thread that becomes a family heirloom.
Pustelu — also written pusthelu or pustela thadu — is the Telugu mangalsutra. Black nalla pusalu beads carry one or two embossed gold bottu discs, traditionally one gifted by each family, strung on yellow thread for the ceremony and later transferred to a 22K gold chain for daily wear.

What is pustelu?
Pustelu (also written pusthelu or pustela thadu) is the Telugu marriage chain — the mangalsutra worn by brides in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. It combines black beads (nalla pusalu) with one or two gold bottu pendants tied on a yellow thread or a gold chain.
What is the difference between pustelu and a North Indian mangalsutra?
A Telugu pustelu traditionally uses two gold bottu discs — one gifted by each family — strung between black bead sections, and is worn longer. A North Indian mangalsutra usually carries a single diamond or gold pendant on a thinner black bead chain.
What are the popular Telangana mangalsutra designs?

How much does a pustelu cost?
Price is weight-based: the live 22K gold rate multiplied by the piece weight, plus making charges and GST. A daily-wear pustelu starts around 8–12 g, and a full bridal pustela thadu with heavy bottu runs 20–35 g, so the final figure moves with the day's rate.
Can the thread be replaced with a gold chain?
Yes. Many customers ask for the traditional bottu on a 22K gold chain for everyday wear, keeping the thread version for ceremonies. We make both from the same bottu pattern.
Do you supply pustelu wholesale to retailers in Telangana and Andhra?
Yes. We are the manufacturer — Mumbai unit with a branch in Warangal serving Telangana and Andhra retailers. Repeat designs, matching chains and private-label capsules are all available with CAD approval before production.
